AB 2589 Up Now

Chris Micheli is testifying on behalf.

This would change the apportionment formula of the EZ credits. They are making a big deal of the fact that this bill is not retroactive. Micheli also points out that there would still exist an apportionment of EZ activity vs. non zone activity. Several other supporters from business organizations.

Lenny Goldberg is speaking in opposition. Bringing up Oakland again. He seems to be the only witness in opposition.

Update: Interestingly, Arambula is expressing interesting in combining the ideas of 2589 into a larger reform bill. Roll was taken 4 ayes, no nays, the bill is out (and goes to Rev. & Tax Committee).
